Our Vision
Our vision is that public schools will be places where every student actively focuses on self-development for lifelong success. No longer will public schools be breeding grounds for mediocrity. Instead, public schools will produce vibrant, energetic learners who carefully think, critically evaluate, and actively pursue new knowledge and skills. Students will no longer be “left behind” but will surge ahead towards academic excellence.

Our Mission
Our mission is to transform motivation in order to promote ownership of the learning process in middle and high school students so that they can realize their full potential in school and in life.
To accomplish this mission, BLC offers two educational programs:
Our Private Tutoring Program, initiated in 1981, uses highly experienced, certified instructors to teach more than 14 different subjects ranging from phonics to physics. For more information, click here.
The BIFF Paradigm Project, piloted in 1999, motivates economically disadvantaged youth at-risk of academic failure by helping them tear down their negative paradigms about school, discover how they learn best, and develop strategies for transforming failure into Honor Roll success.
